SUN WORSHIP

Behold, the stifling splendor
of ripening bodies.
Strewn about,
speckled,
their caustic sweat
and haughty temperament
curdling bleached flesh -
pallid to ocher.

Salty pools collect in crevices,
baked and bronzed
stuffed in nylon/lycra
or cotton casings -
splayed on their gaudy cookie sheets
and lightly sprinkled with hazel sand.

Souring hint of colognes and lotions
waffle into sea breeze.
The divine inclination of Mother Nature blisters
and covets these ogled sufferers:
with melanoma kisses
for all
the tall,
tanned,
mannequins.
